How can therapy help me?
Opening up takes a lot of courage. If you are willing to take that risk, then therapy can be a terrific way to gain support around many different challenges. On a basic level, the opportunity to open up to a non-judgmental and affirming therapist can be healing in and of itself. Therapy can also help you (or your family) gain insight, coping and communication skills that can help you navigate through the problems you are facing.
How are the services you offer different during the COVID-19 pandemic?
I have been closely following the recommendations around providing therapy services from the provincial government, local health authority and the College of Social Workers and Social Services Workers. At this time, I am exclusively offering remote services by phone or online video (using Doxy, which is a secure and privacy-legislation compliant video service for healthcare providers).
What if I'd like to learn more before I get started with therapy?
Since the fit and connection between us plays such a significant role in the success of our work together, I offer a free 20 minute consultation to all potential clients. This consultation is a chance for you to ask questions about the services I provide, in order to help you with making an informed decision about whether I'm the kind of therapist who you would feel comfortable opening up to and working with. Please get in touch if you would like to schedule your free consultation.
Will my insurance plan cover your services?
As a Registered Social Worker, my services are covered by many benefit plans.
What forms of payment do you accept?
I accept cash, cheque or e-transfer as payment for in-person sessions, and e-transfer for remote sessions.
What happens if I need to cancel?
If you need to cancel or reschedule a meeting, I require 24 hours notice in advance of our scheduled session. However, throughout the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic my policy is flexible in regard to cancellations related to any personal or family health emergencies.
